A high-intensity national corridor

Via Sumapaz is the concessionaire of the Bogotá–Girardot highway, one of Colombia’s busiest and most economically significant corridors. A vital link between the capital and the country’s southern regions, the highway descends from the Bogotá plateau through the Eastern Andes, carrying heavy commuter traffic, tourism flows and freight movements. It connects Bogotá to the Magdalena River valley and the Pacific corridor, making it a strategic axis for both regional mobility and national logistics.

Key facts

  • Traffic-risk concession with Colombia’s Agencia Nacional de Infraestructura
  • Around 18 million toll transactions per year
